The Acton Agricultural Society is extremely grateful to the Town of Halton Hills, Halton Region, and the many governmental agricultural ministries and partnerships for their support of us and our goal of serving the community since our society was founded over 110 years ago!
Recent Years
(2019-2024)
Halton Region Agricultural & Community Development Fund:
In 2024, the Agricultural Society received $2000 from Halton Region as a part of their Agricultural Community Development Fund supporting agricultural organizations. This funding helps us with different collaborative projects in the community!
Town of Halton Hills Legacy Mural:
As a part of the Town of Halton Hills 50th anniversary celebrations, the Acton Agricultural Society was fortunate to be awarded a grant of $2500 to have a local artist design & install a mural on our drill shed in Prospect Park!
The mural will depict many different features from the town’s history including the Lord Lyon King of Arms, a recognition of 110 years of the Acton Fall Fair, Prominent Halton Hills historical figures including Lucy Maud Montgomery, Robert Little, and Sir Donald Mann, and historical land & buildings such as the Beaumont Knitting Mill, Dayfoot Drive Park, the Beardmore Tannery, & Grand Trunk Railway. Artwork to be presented in fall 2024!
Town of Halton Hills Community Grant Program:
In 2024, the Acton Agricultural Society received a total of $13,654 from the Town of Halton Hills as a part of their Community Grant Program. This funding helped support many different community engagement programs & initiatives throughout 2024!
SCAP Agriculture & Food Careers Initiative:
In 2022, the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (formerly the Canadian Agricultural Partnership) extended a grant of $1500 to the Acton Agricultural Society. The funding was used to help promote the many different career opportunities in food and agricultural fields at the 2022 Acton Fall Fair!
OMAFRA Grassroots Growth Program:
Since 2020, the Acton Agricultural Society has been very fortunate to have received a total of almost $44,000 from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as a part of their Grassroots Growth Initiative! This initiative was started in 2020 to help protect agricultural and horticultural societies as a result of the economic impact of Covid-19. Each grant over the last 4 years has insured our ability to run many different community programs over the years!
